Wow, May is Over! Who's Ready for an Update?

May Update

Wow, May was a busy month. Between 5 events and new product launches so much happened this month and I want to start by saying how grateful I am for everyone who came out in person and online to support me and my work. I have so much I want to talk about and reflect on from this month. Keep reading below to learn more about what I was up to this month, what's coming for June, and be sure to read all the way through to get this month's freebie offer!

Thank you for Your Support!

What a way to jump back into doing market events. It was so wonderful to meet so many lovely new people and to have the opportunity to talk about my work and see so many of you connect with it and what I do! I'm so excited to see how the Market Season this summer progresses and hope to see you there!

When Things Don't Go to Plan

While this month was so much fun, things also did not go entirely to plan. On May 11th I went to the hospital experiencing abdominal pain and after a CT scan was diagnosed with appendicitis and on May 12, at the doctor's recommendation, I had surgery to have my appendix removed. Now, it goes without saying, but surgery was not really on my list of things to do this month and with 4 events to still do in the month I was rather stressed.

Running your own business can often be challenging and I often find myself feeling like I have to manage everything on my own. That being said, when a medical professional tells you that you need to take it easy (and that you can't lift anything over 10 pounds for 4 WEEKS!) it kind of forces a shift in perspective. This month I really had to figure out what to prioritize tasks and to reach out to my support system when I needed help. So, thank you to my partner, friends / family, my fellow market vendors, and market organizers for being so wonderful this month as I navigated healing and working this month.

It's Vacation Time

After a busy May, my partner and I are taking a much-needed trip to the UK this month, and I will have the pleasure of exploring and having him show me around one of his favorite cities.

As an artist and photographer, exploring new places inevitably has an impact on my work. Meeting new people, trying new things, and adventuring somewhere new all provide new and unique sources of inspiration. I'm so excited to see what kinds of new work this trip inspires and look forward to sharing it with you all.

June Events

Because I'm away for the first part of June I've only got 2 events this month but they're sure to be super fun! So, if you're in the Ottawa area, be sure to come by and say hello!
