Spring Chaos and New Adventures - The February and March Update

February and March Update

2026 started off fast and it has not slowed down. Keep on reading to see what's been happening the last two months, a little bit new designs, news about what's coming soon, and read all the way to the bottom for your monthly freebie (it's a double this time)!

Everything Happens at Once

February and March were chaotic to say the least. Between moving into my new home, dealing with a recurring infection / pain, new exciting projects for a client, getting asked to speak about self employment with people on a new career path, burning the heck out of my right hand (pro tip, do not grab the handle of stainless steel pans right after they come out of the oven), and more. It felt a lot like everything was happening at once and while a lot of it was exciting it was also deeply overwhelming.

There we a lot of moments of needing to learn how to work differently to get through everything and triage problems and priorities as they came up. While a lot that's happened over the last few months has been rewarding (illness and injury aside) it's also been draining.

This has caused me to start recalibrating how i approach my work. I've taking stock of what's working, what's not, what brings me fulfillment and what was too much both the last few months and during my experiments last year.

I'm excited to see how making adjustments will change my work flow and how this year will shape out.

New Designs

Back at the end of 2025 I created a series of color palettes based around aesthetic images set around different tones, emotions, or nostalgia and I've been having a lot of fun creating classic geometric patterns within these color schemes. Last newsletter I mentioned the Plaid and Gingham patterns I created using these color palettes for a collection I'm calling "Colorful Minimalist Fun". This month I added some new argyle patterns.

The goal of this collection is to create a bunch of simple classic patterns with an overarching cohesive color scheme so that buyers can incorporate lots of pattern and texture into their home decor or textile project without having to worry about color matching.

I've got a number of patterns planned for this collection but if there are ones you want to see, let me know.

One more "newish" pattern... I've created a bunch of new colorways of my "Under the Waves" watercolor ocean pattern. There are now 8 different color options to choose from!

Coming Soon

I'll be having some additional Argyle patterns dropping on Spoonflower next week so be sure to keep and eye out for those

Additionally I have something very exciting in the works that I can't wait to launch... MY NEW WEBSITE! I'm creating a space where you can learn more about me and get immediate updates and purchase my new pieces including originals, prints, and stationary like my cards and stickers. Plus I'm trying to include a space for licensing requests. My new website will be the one stop shop for pretty much all things Gen Aumonier Art. My email subscribers and social media followers will be the first to hear about the website launch so keep an eye on your notifications for updates.
