Wow, it's been a month already! Welcome to the March Update! Read below for a brief chat about my first Market of 2025, what's new in my shop and portfolio, and read all the way to the bottom for this month's freebie!
Market Season is Here and I am so EXCITED!
This month I participated in my first market of 2025 at 613Flea Ottawa. It was such an incredible experience meeting new people (some of whom are reading this e-mail! Hello! I'm so happy you're here) and talking about my work. Thank you so everyone who came by my booth and said hello and I can't wait to do more markets this year (and I'll tell you all about them in these newsletters!).
While 613Flea on the 22nd was my first market of the year, it was not my first market ever. I did my first craft market was when I was 9 years old. I was always crafty growing up and my parent's always supported that. We had family friends who did craft fairs and I told my mom I wanted to do the same. So we (my mom and I) developed a little business creating beaded bookmarks and wine glass charms, had my dad help us make our display, and did our first market in the gym of a local school. Over the years, we expanded into polymer clay and other fun beaded items and went to everything from local fairs to bigger festivals. We would do a few markets every year from the ages of 9 to 17 when I moved to Ottawa for University. While my art business has changed, doing markets again feels like coming home. It connects me with my community, lets me meet fellow art lovers, and it reminds me of cherished memories with my mom now that we're half a country away from each other. I've missed doing markets for years, and I cannot wait to do more! I hope to see you there!
